Here we go Day 2:
I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel – Maya Angelou

When I first saw this quote, it made me reflect on the people in my life who have left an unforgettable impression whether positive or negative.

Most often the impressions were based on how they made me feel. It might be because, I am very energy conscious. I can feel the space I am in, be altered by the energy people bring. At times I have walked away from places just because of the negative energy I felt. This was not because of what was said or done.

The person this quote brings to my mind mostly is my grandfather. My earliest memory was when I was 4 years old. Back in Sri Lanka, I was walking with my grandfather from the bus station to his home in his village. It was late in the evening and it was getting dark. We had to walk through an area, with nothing but tall dark palm trees, no street lights and only the moon light shining so sparingly through the leaves of the palm trees.

I remember feeling really scared. He must have felt what I was feeling, he reassuringly squeezed my hand. I still remember the feeling on my palm and his fingers gently squeezing my little fingers, and a knowing within ” I am loved and safe”.

Take a few minutes to reflect on those people who left an impression on you… Was it by their words, actions or was it essentially by how they made you feel?
